Summerland Golf Club
A semi-private course offering a contrast in lay out between the front and back nine.
The course at Summerland Golf Country Club is located on Paradise Flats, and offers quite a contrast in lay out between the front and back nine. The first hole provides the golfer with a wonderful start, the tee being perched some 75 feet above the fairway and offering a great view of the Okanagan Valley in the distance.
The front nine is characterized by generous fairways, relatively flat terrain, and a combination of links style as well as tree lined holes. The front nine features four significant par 4’s that are all in the 400 yard plus range. Prepare to be challenged right out of the gate – the first three holes could leave you shaking your head and playing catch up the rest of the nine.
The back nine moves into a wonderful grove of Ponderosa Pines, and features rolling fairways, elevation changes and undulating greens. No less than five holes skirt the massive Trout Creek Canyon – Be sure to check out the 17th tee and spot the green(s) across the Canyon – Give them a whirl!! The 18th Hole is a great risk reward par five. At just over 500 yards, depending on the tee you play, a good drive will give you the chance to reach the green in two. However you will need to flirt with the corner of Trout Creek Canyon to do so! Accuracy and good putting is required to score well on the back nine.
Summerland features a 300+ Yard Practice Facility including a sizable grass tee area, practice bunkers, chipping green and putting green. Our fully qualified PGA of Canada Professional Staff offer a full array of clinics as well as private lessons so that you can get the most out of your golf game. Be sure to inquire about the Video Analysis Swing Lesson taking place in our newly created Learning Center located outside the Golf Shop.
